Strings

While other schools may have after-school Strings programs or offer Strings as a resource to upper elementary school-aged students, Pine Forest School of the Arts is the only elementary school in Duval County to offer Strings instruction to all students enrolled: beginning in kindergarten during the school day.
Under the direction of Mrs. Rose Wisniewski, our K-2 students receive instruction in violin. Once students at Pine Forest enter 3rd grade, their journey in music expands beyond simply learning to play the violin. They now have the exciting opportunity to choose from four string instruments—violin, viola, cello, or bass—by joining the 3rd Grade Beginning Strings Program. This marks the beginning of a rich musical experience. As they move into 4th grade, students can audition for Mrs. Wisniewski’s Advanced Strings class, where they refine their skills and prepare to continue their musical education at Lavilla School of the Arts or Fort Caroline Middle School.
Learning to play a stringed instrument is not only musically enriching— it’s a powerful tool for brain development, improving memory, focus, coordination, and emotional expression. Every child deserves the chance to experience this kind of growth through music, and at Pine Forest, we are proud and fortunate to offer this incredible opportunity to every enrolled student.
