BUS INFORMATION UPDATE

This month, we will begin live testing a new bus app that we plan to launch on Nov. 1.

This new bus app is called Edulog. It is designed to allow families to monitor their child’s bus in real time. Additionally, we will send bus delay communications through this new app when it is launched in November.

Participating in live testing
This live testing period will allow our Transportation Team to work out any technical issues as they input bus routing data in the new app. During this time, we encourage families of registered bus riders to download the new app to become familiar with how it works.

Downloading the app
Please see attached infographic for instructions on downloading the app. Note the following:

  • Download: You can download “Edulog Parent Portal” from the Apple or Google Play Store. Make sure you are downloading “Edulog Parent Portal” not “Edulog Parent Portal Lite.”

  • Sign-in: On the sign-in screen, click “Sign in by an external provider” at the bottom of screen. Then choose “Duval County Public Schools.”

  • Login credentials: Use your Linked Parent Account login credentials.

As soon as you log into the app, you will see your student’s bus route information. That is all you will see until the testing period for your grade level opens. Once the testing period opens (see schedule below) you will see live bus monitoring information including when students board and exit the bus. Note that students must scan their student ID badge when they board and exit the bus for that information to be reflected in the app.

Live testing schedule
We will begin live testing the app on a staggered schedule beginning with high schools on Sept. 9. Live testing with the other grade bands will follow. Below is the full schedule:

  • Sept. 9 - High schools

  • Sept. 23 - Middle schools

  • Oct. 7 - Elementary schools

  • Nov. 1 - Official launch date

Official launch and bus delays
While the app is being tested, the district will continue to send bus delay communications through calls and texts and on the website. However, when the app is fully launched on Nov. 1, the district will only send bus delay communications through the new bus app.

Additional info
Throughout the live testing period, we will continue to send out information and updates about the new bus app. In the meantime, you can visit the Edulog Parent Portal website for general information.
