Career Day is an opportunity to open students’ eyes to the many possibilities that exist beyond the classroom. By exposing students to a wide range of careers, we help students connect learning to real-world applications, spark curiosity, and begin imagining their future goals.

This year’s Career Day was an incredible experience for our students. We were honored to welcome professionals from a variety of fields who generously shared their time and expertise. Students learned from members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, including their K-9 Unit and Helicopter Unit, as well as our School Police K-9 Unit, giving students an exciting and hands-on look at careers in public safety.

We were also thrilled to host local firefighters. Students in Kindergarten through first grade had the unforgettable opportunity to go inside a fire truck. Moments like these help students build connections to careers in a way that is engaging, tangible, and inspiring.

In addition, students interacted with engineers, scientists, mental health professionals, attorneys, and many other career representatives. These conversations allowed students to ask questions, hear personal stories, and learn about the skills and perseverance required for different career paths.

We are grateful to all of our community partners who made this day possible and helped inspire our students. Career Day reminded us that when students are exposed to what’s possible, they begin to believe in what they can become.
