Spring Break is here! Break begins Saturday, 3/14, and students return to school on Tuesday, 3/24. While we hope our Panda families enjoy rest and fun, we also encourage you to keep reading part of your daily routine — less screen time, more story time!
Research consistently shows that just 15–20 minutes of reading a day helps prevent learning loss and keeps students’ skills sharp. Reading over the break strengthens vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence. Most importantly, it builds a lifelong love of learning.
Here are simple ways to make reading part of your Spring Break:
📖 Read together each day (even older students benefit from reading aloud and discussing).
🛏 Make it part of a bedtime routine.
🚗 Bring books in the car for errands or trips.
📚 Visit your local library and let your child choose books that interest them.
💬 Talk about what they’re reading — ask questions and make connections.
Reading doesn’t have to feel like homework. It can be magazines, graphic novels, cookbooks, devotionals, or stories about topics your child loves. The key is consistency.
A few minutes of reading each day during Spring Break helps ensure they return ready to finish the year strong.
Let’s keep our Pandas growing. 🐼
