Principal Williams' Wolfpack Bulletin 10-18-26
Greetings Twin Lakes family,
Week 1 is in the books! We are headed into our second week of Quarter 2 of school where we believe that educating our students is a partnership between home, school, and community.
A time was had at the homecoming dance last Friday. Thank you, Ms. Dobson and Ms. Brown for orchestrating a good time for our students.
I am excited to share that Twin Lakes’ band program is returning under the direction of Mr. Moses T. Evans, Director of Bands at Atlantic Coast High School. Mr. Evans has a stellar career of building excellent band programs in Duval and Atlanta, Ga. I have a few students who are already interested. If your child is interested in being a part of our band program, we will have a band interest meeting on Wednesday, October 21st for students at 4:30pm and parents at 5:30pm where you will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Evans and hear the vision of the new band program at Twin Lakes.
This weekend, our robotic teams spent quality time sharpening their skills and building their network at the First Lego League BioGlow practice event at Oakleaf Junior High School as they prepare for the upcoming robotic season.
If you are interested in joining us for the Japan trip in 2029, please see the information included in the bulletin and secure your spot by Monday, October 19th. Mark your calendar for our next Paint N Play on Thursday, October 22nd and School Picture Day on Monday, October 26th.
Please take a moment to read this week’s bulletin full of essential information to include our next issue of Timber Tech and this week’s Faculty Spotlight, Ms. Allen (Social Studies). Let's continue our momentum as we work together to make this the best year yet. Students should come to school with their student ID every day around their neck, no crocs, no hoodies with a clear or mesh
backpack ready to learn, grow, and thrive!
Have a SuperFantastic week!
Principal Williams
We will see you Saturday, November 14th from 10am - 1p at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - The countdown is on — just ONE month until the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 10. Take small steps now to get ready: Adjust sleep schedules a little each week, gather school supplies and organize backpacks, keep learning going with 20 minutes of reading or math each day, mark important school dates on your family calendar, and start practicing morning routines. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another amazing year!

Parents of a future 7th or 8th grader this fall? Please click below and rate your electives that you wish to take for the 2026-2027 school year. Number 1 being your 1st preference and 5 being your last preference.

Open Gate is live at Twin Lakes Academy Middle School!
Please take a moment and have your child clean out their backpacks of items not needed for school. Before any student walks through Open Gate, the student will have to remove any 3 Ring Binder, eye glass case, eyelash curler, umbrella, gaming device, tablet, laptop, metal lunchbox, metal pencil case or metal spiral notebook. Open Gate is our new norm to ensure safety of our campus. Tomorrow is our first day, so you will see the yellow tape blocking off a section of the area known as the "no zone" area to maintain the traffic flow. There will be a line, but as students get accustomed to the machine the process will go smoother. We will try to get every student through by 9:30am, but realistically first period will be delayed. Thank you for your patience and support.
REGISTER FOR A BUS TODAY - Bus registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. All students who plan to ride a school bus next year must be registered in advance, including students enrolled in self-contained ESE programs. Families are encouraged to register as early as possible to help ensure a smooth start to the school year. Registration forms are available in Focus. For step-by-step instructions on how to complete the process, visit: www.duvalschools.org/busregistration
