Central Riverside has been a staple in the Riverside/Avondale community for over 100 years. Central Riverside prides itself on providing a nurturing environment where we value educating the whole child for the 21st century. We promote social-emotional development and critical thinking, as well as encourage our Dolphins to take academic risks. In providing this holistic education, we have found that it can take them wherever they want to go.
Our students love learning and having fun with their classmates. Most have been here since kindergarten, playing alongside their friends while feeling seen and cared for on an individual level. Central Riverside has robust programs for gifted and academically talented students. We also have students with special needs that we do not remove from the general education classroom they share with their peers. We understand that every child is unique. Our goal is always to challenge each and every student.
Parents love our school because we are a safe place for their kids to learn and dream. We have high expectations, where their child can thrive in a very nurturing environment. We also have many activities/clubs that cater to their child’s development in many different areas; i.e., CAPS, Girls on the Run, sewing, gardening, student council, safety patrols and C.E.W. Even though we’re equipped to serve many more students, we feel like a small, close family.
The culture at Central Riverside Elementary is a special blend of tradition, cooperation, and curiosity influenced by our history and location in the Riverside/Avondale historic district. They LOVE our school because it’s fun and they have an opportunity to participate in several after-school programs, which is an extension of their day with teachers and classmates. They have easily formed friendships that will last into their middle and high school years.
Our school’s theme this year is “Level Up: Goals and Motivation Equal Success.”
