Important updates for this week. Tomorrow is our 2nd day of State Testing for 3rd-5th grade. It is very important students get a good night rest, are present and on time for school tomorrow. We have set a calm, safe, encouraging atmosphere for students to do their best on the test. We are looking forward to celebrating all of our student's success at the end of the month. Tomorrow also begins a week-long celebration of our Stellar Teachers. Each day students are encouraged to celebrate their teachers with a loving gesture. See the attached image for ideas. I hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement as we approach an important milestone in our school year.
First, testing season begins tomorrow. It is vital that our students get a good night’s rest, eat a hearty breakfast, arrive on time, and start their morning surrounded by positivity and encouragement. We have worked incredibly hard all year, and now it is time to show the state of Florida just how Stellar we truly are. Our students are well-prepared and ready to demonstrate mastery on all of their assessments. When they enter the building tomorrow, they will walk into an atmosphere intentionally designed for success. We believe in their greatness, and we are confident in their ability to shine. Together, we are ready to earn our “A”!
Secondly, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to each family who took the time to acknowledge me with tokens of appreciation during Principal Appreciation Week. Your kind words, gestures, gifts, and support truly mean more than I can express. While this work can be challenging, it is incredibly rewarding because I have the honor of serving the most amazing, brilliant students and the very best families.

This afternoon, we safely confiscated a loaded firearm from a student. We became aware of the prohibited item after receiving reports from multiple students who heard a student had a it in his possession. At no time were any threats made toward students or staff, and the firearm was secured without incident.
Law enforcement and DCF are on campus investigating this incident. In addition to potential criminal charges, we will also pursue the appropriate school disciplinary consequences.
While I am very disappointed in this student’s actions, I am also grateful to the students who immediately reported what they saw. Our “See Something, Say Something” message remains one of our best tools in identifying safety concerns. Today’s unfortunate incident is a clear example of why it matters.
Parents - We ask that you partner with us in keeping children safe by monitoring their belongings and talking with them about appropriate items for school. Please ensure that any weapons or firearms in your home are securely stored and kept completely out of children’s reach. Checking backpacks regularly helps ensure that prohibited items are not brought to school. Together, we can keep dangerous items off our campus and create a safe learning environment for all students.

1. Tomorrow is Administrative Professional Day! We are truly grateful for our Front Office Staff Ms. Laidler, Ms. Scott, Mr. Smith and Ms. Ward! Let's celebrate them big tomorrow!!!
2. Our BELA Ride Out is this Thursday. This is our last Family Night! Bring your bikes, scooters, motor bikes, electric cars, and hoover boards to ride out one last time. There will be information about your child transitioning to the next grade level.

I’m reaching out to address a rumor circulating on social media about a possible threat to our school. We are aware of the situation, and I want to assure you that there is no credible threat against Biscayne Elementary School.
Yesterday afternoon, a parent reported that a student from another school made a possible threat during a group phone call. Our school police immediately investigated and determined the threat to be non-credible. Please know that any report of a threat is taken seriously and investigated right away. If there were ever a credible threat to our school, I would notify you immediately. Again, at this time, there is no threat to our campus.

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, student attendance is more important than ever. Each day your child is present is another opportunity for growth, reinforcement, and success. With limited instructional time remaining, we cannot afford to miss a single day.
To encourage strong attendance and punctuality, we are launching a daily “Beat the Bell” initiative! Here’s how it works:
• Students who arrive on time by 8:25 AM and are present will receive a ticket each day.
• At the end of the week, we will hold a raffle, and winning students will receive a stellar prize.
• The more days your child is on time, the more tickets they earn and the better their chances of winning!
In addition, we will celebrate attendance as a school community:
• Classrooms with 100% attendance for the week will earn a popcorn party or popsicle party.
We need your partnership now more than ever. Please ensure your child arrives to school on time, every day, ready to learn. These final weeks are critical, and your support makes all the difference.
