The time is decreasing every day! Here are a few reminders to keep you informed and ensure we continue to have a STELLAR week of learning! Parents are not allowed to walk students to class *The Faculty and Staff parking lot will be close to all families except for families with special program parking passes. Morning intake for car riders will end at 8:20am after 8:20am students can be dropped off in front of the school. Please make sure your student is present every day. Instruction begins promptly at 8:25am All students are dismissed by the Pik My Kid App it is a state statute that we must follow. Please make sure your student dismissal is assigned correctly. Hello Team Duval families, We heard your feedback! You said you wanted a seamless, streamlined communication experience. Everything in one place. We are excited to present the NEW Duval Schools app! About the Duval Schools App Through this easy-to-navigate app, you can: • Receive a feed of regular district and school-level updates. • Access the Parent Portal to see your child’s academic information. • Communicate with teachers through a new two-way communication tool called Rooms! This means that you will no longer need multiple tools to keep up with your students’ teachers. District updates, classroom updates, and parent-teacher communication will all exist within one tool. You will continue to receive phone calls, text messages, emails, and/or voice calls from the district and your students’ principals to ensure that no matter what type of communication you prefer, your needs are met. About Rooms Rooms is a two-way parent-teacher communication tool that is available in the new app. It will bring all classroom conversations into one place and will take the place of any other communication tool previously used by Duval County Public Schools. It also enables teachers to share classroom announcements and updates in a way that’s much simpler for families. Here are just a few Rooms features we think you’re going to love: • Two-way messaging with parents, guardians, students, and staff in a monitored, secure space • Teachers can share classroom announcements, activities, and send reminders about coursework to families • Teachers can upload and store classroom materials • Teachers can record student behavior and academic progress • Automatic translation in your preferred language How Do I Get Started? Important information for tomorrow: School Hours | 8:25a – 3:00p ARRIVAL Student Drop off begins at 8:00a. DO NOT drop students off prior to 8a. There is no Adult Supervision. Utilize Car Drop off loop for student drop off. Parents will have the opportunity to park their vehicle and walk their student leader(s) to their classroom the first day of school only. ​​Please utilize designated car drop off loop thereafter. PLEASE DO NOT drop students off in the front of the school (between 8:00-8:30a) for the safety of your student and the safety of our teachers and staff ​ONLY students arriving prior to 8:00a are students enrolled in Morning Extended Day and designated Safety Patrols. DISMISSAL The first weel dismissal will start early. Week 2 dismissal will begin at 2:50p. Car Riders will be dismissed utilizing the PIKMYKID app via the car rider loop ONLY. If students cannot be picked up by 3p daily, they must be enrolled in Extended Day or Boys and Girls Club. If your student is a walker do not walk up on campus to pick up students. Students will be escorted to the top of the campus to be dismissed. Extended Day will start tomorrow. Boys and Girls club will start next week Monday August 19, 2024. Check your email for arrival and dismissal map. Please exercise patience during drop off and pick up. The first 1-2 weeks of school are extremely busy as students and families get acclimated.
