Promoting Thinking, Curiosity, and Questioning!

CRES would like to welcome the Gifted students from Fishweir and West Riverside who join us for class one day a week, depending on their grade level.  We have been busy applying research skills to our study of the 50 states.  Each student has selected a state, and will create a triboard, choice project, and children’s book for their assigned state.  They will present their research at the CRES State Fair this winter.

Students have also been participating in STEM centers.  The photos show students creating a bridge using only specified material.  They have also learned to work together in order to achieve the best design.

Enrichment Activities!

Students in our Gifted and EDGE programs are participating in unique learning opportunities every day! EDGE is an enrichment program that focuses on critical appreciation, creative expression, and social processes through activities that enhance, develop, and generate academic skills learned in the regular classroom.  At CRES, we offer a curriculum for gifted students that promotes creative, flexible and genuine thinking. Students are encouraged to take pride in their unique abilities within an environment that is nurturing and respectful.
