The Magnet Season is starting early this year, and our School Showcase is this Saturday, December 7th. Come check out our school and see what we're all about. We will have 4 tour times at 9am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, and 2pm. These tours do count as a school tour for your magnet application. If you miss the tours on Saturday, you can still call us at 904-992-3600 to schedule a tour during the week. All Magnet applications are due by January 31st. Remember the final step is signing into your parent focus account, and completing the 25-26 Magnet Application.

The Square 1 Art order deadline has been extended to December 9th. Be sure to place your Square 1 Art order online by December 9th.
If you want to purchase a school tile, it is automatically added to your cart. You do not have to find the item and add it to your cart. If you do not want the school tile, you can remove it from your cart before you check out. The school tiles stay at Axson and are added to the legacy walls displayed in the hallways. If you want a tile for home, that's a separate item that you can shop for.
We are so proud of our two Robotics teams! On Saturday, they demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication! The Rising Robo Rockers 4th-grade team earned a Robot game high score of 260, a truly remarkable feat! The Robo Rockers (5th grade) also received the high score award at their event with a score of 240 and were declared champions! Both teams will be advancing to Regionals in January.

Our Scholastic Book Fair opens tomorrow and will run all week. You can go to https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/jallenaxsonbookfair to check out the book fair online and set up an ewallet for your child. You can also send in cash with your child. Be sure to communicate with your child's teacher. There will be class times for visiting the book fair that your teacher should let you know of, as well as there will be open times throughout the week that your child can visit the book fair with teacher permission.
DCPS asked us to name a Parent Champion. It was a hard task, because we have so many great parent volunteers at Axson, but we could only pick one. Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Kristina Damato, J. Allen Axson's Parent Champion. Ms. Kristina is a very involved Axson parent. She is on our PTA board, she helps a lot with school tours and other events like Fall Festival, and she's been an amazing parent volunteer for more than 8 years. Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will be running from November 12-22. Please bring canned food and box items to the front office or drop off in the car line. All items will be given to the students and families at Thomas Jefferson Elementary.

The silent auction will open tomorrow, 11/8/24, at 1:30pm and close at 6pm pending any last second bids. You do not have to be at the school in person to bid. *** Fall Festival Dismissal: Please change your students' dismissals for Friday to either PK 1:30 FallFest Parent Pickup or K-5th 3:00 FallFestival Pickup as appropriate if you intend to pickup your kids and go straight to Fall Festival at dismissal time. Extended day is still available on Friday for those who are signed up and need it. Please check your email for more detailed information and directions.

J. Allen Axson's Fall Festival is coming up on November 8th. 1:30pm-3pm is for PreK ONLY and 3pm-6pm will be for all students. You can preorder food and a wristband at https://bit.ly/3A6NHgt Presales END at3pm on Nov. 6th. Wristbands will be $10 CASH on the day of the event. We will not have food trucks this year, so if you would like the choice of food at the festival, please preorder. This is a FAMILY event and all are welcome. Only children participating in the activities need a wristband. Children must attend with an adult. Bring CASH for snacks and drinks from Robotics. Bring Cash/Card for the ice cream cart.
