This year's Black History Month theme "A Century of Black History Commemorations", marks 100 years of National Black History observances. In honor of Black History Month, Join Us on Thursday February 26th for "A Celebration of Black History" right here at John E. Ford. In Celebration, we will be highlighting 10 Kid Vendors and recognizing their entrepreneurial spirit. To register, please email Michelle Buckley and/or Shana Ingram.

With each day showcasing a different theme, we look forward to your participation in representing each day.

This year's Black History Month theme is "A Century of Black History Commemorations", marking 100 years of National Black History observances. In honor of Black History Month, we will be celebrating the achievements and contributions made by African Americans with our Costume Parade on Thursday, February 26th at 9am. Students are encouraged to dress as black figures, past or present. This is an IN-SCHOOL event and due to safety guidelines, PARENT PARTICIPATION IS PROHIBITED.

As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. The deadline to purchase tickets is THIS FRIDAY, February 6, 2026!

John E. Ford will become a dedicated magnet school next year and all new students must apply before the deadline. So, if you have a student enrolled at Ford with a younger sibling you want to bring next year you will need to complete an application before January 31st.
