Technology Services still has a number of free ECF laptops to give out to students. Principals, APs, and school leaders, please share the following message with your school communities through Thrillshare. Teachers, please post in your published Rooms (Thrillshare) to help ensure all families are aware of the opportunity. If you are a district employee, we would greatly appreciate your assistance in sharing with the family communities you work with, as well. Beginning in November, every Tuesday, Technology Services will be available to distribute free ECF laptops to any student enrolled in a traditional DCPS school. This includes students who have already been assigned a laptop from school. This will be a secondary device the students can keep at home for school use. See the details below! WHAT: Free laptop for all DCPS students! No registration necessary!* *Wait times may be shorter if ECF survey is completed in advance, but not necessary. Hi J.E.F Knights! TOMORROW WEAR ORANGE, FOR UNITY DAY🧡

Welcome back! We are so excited to see all our our students and families back at school. We hope everyone was safe. We wanted to remind you of two important dates coming up this week and next. Friday, October 18th will be picture day at Ford. Students will be photographed individually in the MPR. Next week is our annual Book Character/Pumpkin Parade. Students will receive a permission slip that needs to be signed and returned to their classroom teacher in order to participate. We invite you to bring a lawn chair and join us along the road in front of the school to cheer our characters along on their walk. We are so excited to see all of our students dressed as their favorite book characters. Another event to keep on your radar is our annual Fall Festival which will occur on November 8th. It is always held from 3:30-6:30 and we encourage all our families to join in the fun. More details will be coming soon from our PTA. Have a wonderful day and as always, I wish you a restful evening. Hello John E. Ford Families, This is Mrs. Tina with a quick notification that the school was on a brief lockout this afternoon, for about 10 minutes, due to police activity in the area. Students and staff remained safe. Again, all students and staff remained safe. The lockdown has been lifted, and we have resumed our normal day. Again, we apologize for interrupting your day, but we always want to make sure you're aware whenever we take these measures to keep students and staff safe. Thank you and have a great remainder of your day and weekend. I wish you rest!
