MAJ Rocketship: Blasting Off to Reach New Goals!

Greetings M. A. J. Families!

We have one more week before Spring Break!  This is an important week as we finish up our district assessments with science (grades 3 – 5) as well as completing i-Ready assessments for all students.  These assessments will be used to help us understand what your child’s specific needs for instruction are for the remainder of the school year. We ask your help in ensuring they get good rest each night and arrive at school on time.

We will be holding our annual Title 1 Parent and Family Engagement Plan Developmental Meeting immediately following our School Advisory Council Meeting on Monday, March 9th.  These meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend.  We would love to hear your ideas about what we can do to help as a partner to you in your child’s education.  The SAC meeting will begin at 4:45 PM and the PFEP Developmental Meeting will begin at 5:00.  If you are unable to attend, but would like to share your ideas, we have surveys available for you to complete and return prior to the meeting.

Coach Green will be running our school “Olympic Day” (field day) on Friday, March 13th.  Your child will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of games and physical activities.  They will need to wear athletic shoes (no sandals or crocs) and dress to play.  All activities will be held outdoors (weather permitting).

As the weather warms up, a quick reminder about dress code.  The hem of shorts or skirts should come down to at least mid-thigh.  As a measure, have your child stand with arms hanging naturally at their sides.  With hand in a fist, the hem should come to at least their knuckles.  Shirts must fully cover the stomach and spaghetti straps are not allowed.

Looking ahead - next week is Spring Break and there will be no school followed by a planning day for teachers on March 23rd.

As always, we thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education as we are Blasting Off to Reach New Goals!!!  We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning!
