After-School Program

Please see the flyer if you or someone you know may be in need of assistance.

We are off to a fantastic start and are excited to welcome both our returning students and families, as well as those who are new to the Village! Be sure to check out our monthly newsletter and calendar for important events happening this month and upcoming dates in September.
We encourage all families to join the PTA this year. Our PTA plays a vital role in supporting our students, staff, and school community. One of the best ways to get involved is by volunteering. The first step is to complete the volunteer approval process. You can apply online through the DCPS Volunteer Application.
Additionally, please make sure you have created your parent account and linked your student(s). This will allow you to communicate directly with your child's teacher and receive important school information, updates, and announcements throughout the year.
We look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful and memorable school year! 💙💛 Welcome to the Village!

Welcome back to 2026-2027! See some great news from our school counselor, Ms. Ivester.

School is right around the corner, and we are looking for help stocking up on items for the BIZI store. Students earn points each day for on-time attendance, good behavior, and their academic performance. They can use their points to purchase items from the store. Scan the QR code or use the link https://a.co/0eQ0fGzG to purchase items and have them delivered directly to the school. Items can also be purchased from local stores and brought to the school. Check out the list for some of student's favorite things. We appreciate any donations.

The start of school is right around the corner and we want you to be prepared. Check out the link with resources in English and Spanish to get you connected today. Please note that you MUST have a DCPS linked parent account.

UPDATE:
Normandy Village families,
I want to provide an important clarification regarding our recent communication about school uniforms.
In my previous message, I shared that the uniform policy would be enforced. After reviewing the current school practice/policy AND hearing that parents liked having a choice, I want to clarify that uniforms at Normandy Village will remain optional at this time; however, they are still highly encouraged for all students.
The purpose of sharing the grade-level colors was to provide consistency for families who choose to participate in the uniform option. Uniforms help promote school pride, unity, and a focused learning environment, and we would love to see our students proudly represent Normandy Village in their grade-level colors.
I appreciate your understanding as we make sure all families receive clear and accurate information. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we prepare for a positive start to the school year.
-Warmly
Principal Peterson
