We hope everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable 3-day weekend! As we return on Tuesday, we will return to some testing for Kindergarten and 1st grade. They will begin state testing this week with PM1. Make sure students are on time and present each day. We will have our first SAC and PTA meeting this Thursday in the Media Center at 5pm. We are looking for our new SAC President! On Friday we will have our first dance of the year. The dance will support our safety patrols. The cost is $3 and snacks will sold at the dance for additional cost. Money to attend the dance will be collected until Thursday. No money will be accepted on Friday. This will allow for us to get accurate numbers and purchase items. Have a great rest of your holiday weekend! We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday morning!

Welcome Back as we enter Week 3! We will start State testing for 2nd grade and VPK this week.2nd grade will be Tuesday and Wednesday. VPK will be one on one throughout the week. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade will continue testing CBM Reading for UFLI baseline. Please encourage students to do their best and make sure they are here everyday and on time. 4th grade families if your child received a Read USA permission slip please look at it, sign it, and return it. It is free Reading tutoring for your child. The program is amazing and will help close gaps with reading and comprehension. Ask your child about BIZI! It is our new system we are using to increase positive behavior, academic improvement, attendance, and uniforms. Your child earns BIZI bucks everyday for coming to school, dressing in uniform, and following rules. This Friday they will earn bucks based off grades. For every A, B, and C they will receive a specific dollar amount. The more A's you have the more dollars you collect! Their first pay period for grades will be on Friday. Have students show you the money they earn. Students will be able to purchase items from our school store with the money the earn. Their first purchase will happen in September! Parents please follow the rules of the school. Traffic is big for us and we have an officer that is helping direct traffic. Make sure you follow speed limits and direction. Do not park on the grass on the side. Be mindful of students walking as well. Early pick up ends at 2:15pm. If you continue to pick kids up early they will miss vital instruction. Follow dismissal procedures. Students must be picked up by 3:30pm. Late parents will receive a warning and then we will have to start making phone calls to other agencies such as DCF and JSO. We have families that we must pick up as well and we cannot do that if students are left at school until 4:30-5:00 each day. We are looking forward to another great week! Thank you for your continued support!

Welcome back to Week 2 here at Rutledge H. Pearson Elementary! We hope each of you had a great weekend! We had an amazing first week. Thank you for making our start smooth. This is the sign of an amazing year. Here are a few updates for this week. Boys and Girls Club after-school program will start on Monday. If you were notified via email of your child's spot and attended Orientation last week, then they will stay after school starting on Monday. If you have any questions please let Ms. Menefee know. Please continue to be patient with us around dismissal. We are in such a better place with dismissal this year compared to last school year. This is because of you and helping us with the rules in place. Keep up the great work families! Our PreK, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade students will participate in vision and hearing screenings. This will take place during the day on Monday. Our 5th graders will have a field trip on Thursday and Friday to the Marine Science Center. Parents please make sure they have turned in their signed permission slip. They must also wear a uniform shirt in order to attend. This will assist us with them staying with the group. Please check your child's folder and make sure they are returning it back to school each day. This will allow them to earn their BIZI dollars each day. They can earn BIZI dollars for attendance, grades, responsibility of materials and homework, and social interaction. Ask your child about BIZI today! Have a great week!!
