✅ Every student should apply for federal and state funds, regardless if they think they are going to get the award or not.
⏰ The earlier the application is submitted, the better the chances for funds to be set aside for your student.
📝 Adjustments to the forms can be made in some cases if financial status changes between now and college enrollment.
🎓 Financial Aid can be used to cover costs at public colleges (FSCJ, UNF, etc.), some private schools (JU, Flagler, etc.) and some trade schools (ex. J-Tech). 🛠️
❓ Need more info? Attend the RHS Parent Night Thursday, Oct. 15th at 5:30 p.m. 💙💚 Info available for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade parents!

Amendment 3 and the Duval County Public Schools 1-mill referendum are two separate items on the November 3 ballot.
🏫 The 1-mill referendum is a continuation of the millage approved by Duval County voters in 2022. It supports school funding, including teacher pay, as well as arts and athletics.
🏠 Amendment 3 is a proposed change to the Florida Constitution addressing property taxes statewide. The amendment excludes school funding.
Take a look at the graphic for a quick side-by-side comparison and visit www.DuvalSchools.org/Vote for more information about the 1-mill referendum.

The 2026 - 2027 school year started off on a high note for the Riverside High School Band, as they received new instruments due to a grant from the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. The new band equipment - totaling over $38,000 - will help expand opportunities for student musicians and strengthen the school's band program for years to come. Congratulations, RHS Band!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - The countdown is on — just ONE month until the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 10. Take small steps now to get ready: Adjust sleep schedules a little each week, gather school supplies and organize backpacks, keep learning going with 20 minutes of reading or math each day, mark important school dates on your family calendar, and start practicing morning routines. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another amazing year!
