We are a School of the Medical Arts. We often get asked, "What does that mean? What do you all do as a School of the Medical Arts Elementary School?" Each month we explore a focus related to our magnet. November's Focus is Nutrition Wellness.

November’s Nutrition Wellness focus helps students explore how food, water, movement, rest, and healthy habits support learning and overall well-being.

Family Wellness Conversations:
• What foods are special in our family or culture?
• What helps us feel energized?
• What is one way our family enjoys movement?
• What is a favorite food memory?

We encourage families to choose one activity to do together:
• Read a food-themed book.
• Prepare or discuss a meal.
• Drink water during a shared activity.
• Take a walk or enjoy another form of movement.
• Visit a local garden, market, or community food resource.

This is the last week of Quarter 1. Let's finish strong and make sure students are in school and on time this week. Please be sure to send back the signed District Permission Slip. This allows students to participate in events during instructional hours such as the Book Fair, Book Character Parades, etc.
