Week 1 is off to a great start. It was great meeting all of our new students and families and seeing our former students and families. We have a few reminders and updates.
Important Information:
*Students can be dropped off at 8:30-8:55 AM. School starts promptly at 9 AM.
*All changes to dismissal MUST be in writing via the agenda or changed in the PikMyKid App.
*Please make sure you have a Focus Account with Students Linked to your account. That is the only way you will get access to PikMyKid.
*Car Riders & Walkers MUST be announced via the PikMyKid App when parents arrive for pick up.
*2:45 PM is the cut off time for picking up students early from school. If students have appointments, please plan accordingly.
*100% ID Check (license, military ID or passport) when checking out students early from school.
*Have you turned in an updated Blue Card for this school year? If not, please send in as soon as possible.
Week of August 18th:
*Tuesday, Aug 19th: Tuesday Folders will go home on Tuesday. Please look for a Red Folder with flyer inserts. Sign and return the folder on Wednesday.
*Tuesday, Aug 19th: Cathedral Arts Project Musical Theatre starts. CAP is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 PM-4:30 PM. There is a one time registration fee of $25. Dates: Aug 19-May 7.

It was so good seeing so many SHINING FACES this week! We are ready and excited for a new school year. You will need two important apps this year to STAY CONNECTED.
FIRST: Have you downloaded the DCPS App (Duval County Public Schools App)? After downloading the app, select: Venetia to stay informed. Then, scroll to the bottom, select Rooms, and log in using your Focus Account email and password. You will be able to stay connected and communicate with your child's teacher and the school.
SECOND: Have you downloaded the PikMyKid App? You will need this app for dismissal. You must announce pick up for Car Riders, Walkers, & Extended Day through PikMyKid. Bus students are dismissed through the app as well. You can see when they load the bus and dismiss from school.
Please make sure you have a Focus Parent Account and your child is linked to your Focus Account. If you need any help completing this task or any task above, please visit the front office. Be sure to register for the bus and complete other forms for the school year in Focus.

I hope you are having a great summer. We are preparing for the 2025-2026 school. Our theme for this school year is "It's Time to Shine!". A “Time to Shine” school theme is bright, uplifting, and full of positive energy. We are encouraging students to be their best, let their talents shine, and approach each day with confidence.
Enrollment is happening now! The front office is open from 8 AM-4 PM.

We hope your summer is off to a great start. Our Summer Camp will start on Monday, June 9th. There are still a few seats available. At this time, you are allowed to select weeks, if needed.
Bus Registration:
Bus registration for the 2025-26 school year is now open!
Registration is required for any student riding the bus in the 2025-26 school year.
The earlier you register, the better. Registration forms are in Focus.

Summer Learning:
The Blended Learning Platforms (Freckle, iReady, Reflex Math, & Waterford) are available this summer. Keep students' brains active with some academic activity each day! Check out the local Public Library so students can check out books and read. They also have fun summer activities. Visit our library partners, Willow Branch Library.

We are almost to the last day of school. Please continue to refer to the End of Year Events Flyer for all end of year activities. We have several testing days this week. Please make sure students are PRESENT & ON TIME. It is BEST that students test with their homeroom.

Wednesday, May 14th: 4th & 5th Grade Math FAST Testing
Thursday, May 15th: 5th Grade Science State Testing
Friday, May 16th: 5th Grade Field Trip to The Main Event
Friday, May 16th: Multicultural Day! Represent your country studied in class. Each class chose a country. They can come dressed in the traditional attire to represent their country.
