We are celebrating World Heart Day by wearing red or heart attire.

World Heart Day, held annually on 29 September, is a global campaign led by the World Heart Federation (WHF) to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease (CVD)—the world’s leading cause of death. The idea was first introduced by WHF President Dr. Antoni Bayés de Luna during his tenure and launched in 1999 with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNESCO. The first official World Heart Day was celebrated in 2000, coinciding with the Sydney Olympic Games, with the inaugural slogan “Let it Beat,” emphasizing the importance of physical activity in preventing heart disease and stroke.

We will Celebrate Freedom Week with themed days each day. Flyers were sent last week in the Tuesday Folder. We kick off the week wearing red, white & blue: Proud to be an American!

We have a change to our resource schedule. Due to lower enrollment, we are going to itinerant resource for Music, Art & PE. This means that students will receive Music, Art, & PE every other week similar to our Media schedule. We will operate on an A Week/B Week schedule. This week students will have Media & PE (A-week). Next week, students will have Art & Music (B-week).

*Thursday, Sept 25: New Worlds Reading Family Fun Night, 5:30 PM-7 PM (Dinner will be served!)

*Red Folders Go Home on Tuesdays. Please sign and return on Wednesday.
*You MUST present a physical ID when being buzzed into the school for any school visits.
*You MUST present a physical ID for student checks out. Physical IDs include license, Military ID, or Passport.

Please pay close attention to breakfast times to ensure your child arrives in time to eat:

*2nd–4th Grade: Breakfast in the cafeteria from 8:30–8:55 AM.
⏰ Best arrival time: by 8:45 AM. The cafeteria closes at 8:55 AM.

*Kindergarten & 1st Grade: Breakfast served in the classroom from 8:55–9:15 AM.

*5th Grade: Breakfast served in the classroom from 8:45–9:05 AM.

Week 1 is off to a great start. It was great meeting all of our new students and families and seeing our former students and families. We have a few reminders and updates.

Important Information:
*Students can be dropped off at 8:30-8:55 AM. School starts promptly at 9 AM.
*All changes to dismissal MUST be in writing via the agenda or changed in the PikMyKid App.
*Please make sure you have a Focus Account with Students Linked to your account. That is the only way you will get access to PikMyKid.
*Car Riders & Walkers MUST be announced via the PikMyKid App when parents arrive for pick up.
*2:45 PM is the cut off time for picking up students early from school. If students have appointments, please plan accordingly.
*100% ID Check (license, military ID or passport) when checking out students early from school.
*Have you turned in an updated Blue Card for this school year? If not, please send in as soon as possible.

Week of August 18th:
*Tuesday, Aug 19th: Tuesday Folders will go home on Tuesday. Please look for a Red Folder with flyer inserts. Sign and return the folder on Wednesday.

*Tuesday, Aug 19th: Cathedral Arts Project Musical Theatre starts. CAP is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 PM-4:30 PM. There is a one time registration fee of $25. Dates: Aug 19-May 7.
