CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Join us in thanking our outstanding school counselors for the lasting difference they make in our schools and community!

Students are encouraged to participate in our Black History Month Dress Up Days as a fun way to learn, celebrate, and show pride.
Thank you for supporting our school community as we honor Black history together.

To kick off Literacy Week, our students celebrated 250 chapters and the 100th day of school by dressing as founding fathers or 100 year olds.
These future historians and lifelong readers showed us just how fun learning can be. We cannot wait to keep turning pages, building knowledge, and making memories together all week long 💙

Our classroom spotlight this week goes to all of first grade! Today, they participated in the Selma March in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They carried handmade peaceful protest signs conveying the message they learned from this lesson, including equal rights for all, everyone counts, and kindness for all. Students made five important stops along their march and learned facts about the march along the way. Thank you to our first grade teachers, Ms. Alvarenga, Ms. DePriest, Ms. Karioki, and Ms. Rodriguez, for providing such a memorable experience for our students! We hope you have a wonderful Dr. MLK, Jr. Day!
