We apologize for today’s dismissal delay. The PikMyKid app experienced a districtwide outage. The district is actively working to resolve the issue, and we expect it to be fully operational tomorrow for a smoother dismissal process.
To ensure a safe and efficient dismissal, please review the reminders below:
Daily Transportation
Please remind your child each day how they will be going home. If there are any changes, notify your child’s teacher or the front office so we can have them ready at dismissal. Ensure you have your PikMyKid tag number and/or a photo ID available so we can verify your identity.
Extended Day
Beginning at 3:10 PM, families must park and sign students out in the front office, even if car dismissal is still in progress.
Walkers
If you plan to pick your child up from the walkers’ area, inform your child’s teacher so they can be placed in the correct dismissal zone. Walker pick-up is located at the back of the playground on Park Street.
Car Riders
Enter the carline from King St. and Herschel Ave. and remain in your vehicle.
Display your PikMyKid tag number on your dashboard and check your child out through the PikMyKid app.
Students will be released in the order they are called as you queue them into PikMyKid.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these beginning-of-year technical challenges. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and organized for all students.

BRINGING HISTORY TO LIFE THROUGH A WAX MUSEUM – This shoutout celebrates a fun, interactive take on history – a Wax Museum event at West Riverside Elementary School! Dr. April Slade, Director of K-12 Social Studies, shares her reflections: “Students amazed us all by transforming into historical figures, politicians, music artists, and athletes, each one standing proudly to share the story of their chosen icon. It was truly inspiring to see our young scholars embody greatness from the past and present.”
Our special formal for 4th and 5th grade students will be held from 6:00–8:30 PM. Tickets are $45 per student, which includes a catered dinner and special dance events.

Walk/Bike to School Day-May 7
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Community Engagement Section invites West Riverside students and families to the Annual Walk, Bike, Roll Initiative on Wednesday May 7 at 8:00 am
West Riverside Elementary community will meet at 8:00 at the front of the Willow Branch Library. We will walk/bike from the library to West Riverside Elementary.
Members of JSO will be accompany students and families as we walk to school.
Let's celebrate our amazing West Riverside Teachers May 5-9. Teachers will appreciate any acts or words of kindness. We take the time to show our love for the teachers who go above and beyond each day
Join the Safety Patrol for our last school dance of the year! It will take place from 3:00–5:45 PM, Friday, May 2. Tickets are $16 which includes 5 snack tickets and entry.

Dance and musical performances from Mexico, Peru, Panama and Colombia
Friday, April 25th, 2025 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
*Performances start at 6:30pm* Join us at West Riverside in the schoolyard for a night of delicious food and cultural performances!
Dinner will be catered by La Bodega Original and we will be offering empanadas, stewed chicken and roast pork, rice, and beans for dinner.
Each ticket includes entertainment, dinner, and a drink! Dinner 6:00-6:30 pm (**pre-registration required**) Only $10.00/person
