Today we will celebrate our students for their amazing growth since the beginning of the school year. In addition, students will have a small Valentine's exchange at the end of the day. There will be no balloons or other distracting items allowed in classrooms. Finally, the front office will not take any deliveries in the front office. Please save Valentines for your student at home.

We are kicking off our Black History Spirit Week tomorrow with "Share the Love". Students are encouraged to wear shades of pink and red to celebrate love and kindness towards each other. We are super excited to see students participate in our spirit week!!

Hello CLE Families & Care Givers! Hope your team won during the Super Bowl on Sunday! It was a good one, especially with all of the goodies that go along with the game. Here are a few things happening this week at CLE! *Conference Days are continuing this week. 2nd Grade is Monday, 1st Grade is Tuesday and Wednesday and 4th Grade is scheduled for Thursday and Friday! Make sure you sign up for your time today! *Growth Parade: Chimney Lakes will host its first ever Growth Parade! We have analyzed our data from our recent mid year assessments and are ready to celebrate our students who have made their growth goals. Parents are welcome to come and celebrate with us by cheering us on in the front hallways. The parade will start at 9 am on Friday, February 14th. Hope you can come join us! Here are a few more reminders: *Magnet/School Choice Deadline for Kindergarten-5th Grade is on Friday, January 31st. That's this Friday! Make sure you magnetize your student for magnet priority for middle school. Since we have recently changed our magnet theme from International Studies to International STEAM, this affects our magnet middle school feeder pattern. Our students now can get direct access to LaVilla School of the Arts, Springfield STEM Middle School, and Ft. Caroline School of the Arts. VPK Applications are due by February 28th. *Conference Days are coming up soon. Many teachers have posted their direct link to sign ups on their Rooms pages in the DCPS app. You can also call the school at 904.573.1100 to sign up for your child's homeroom teacher. If your child is in a departmentalized setting, you will also have the opportunity to speak with the other teacher(s) that same day, but you will register under the homeroom teacher's class. *Flame Broiler Family Nights are coming in February. Our first one is Wednesday February 5th from 4:30-8:30 pm. 20% of the proceeds go to the Teachers of Tomorrow (TOTs) program. At the moment, we are not aware if Duval County Public Schools will be closing on Wednesday. Please look for any alerts via email, Rooms, and robocalls. Due to recent injuries and the death of a high schooler, DCPS is rolling out the initiative "Be Safe Be Seen" to ensure our students are safe at the bus stop and crosswalks. Attached you will see several photos to use as you see fit to help with reminders of safe walking/biking to school. *Tutoring will begin on Monday, January 27th. Hello Chimney Lakes Families & Care Givers! Welcome to 2025! We are happy to welcome our students back on Tuesday, January 7th. We hope you had a wonderful break and ready for busy second semester! Just a few reminders and dates to remember for you: *Report Cards will be posted in FOCUS accounts by the end of the day on Monday, January 13th. *Class & Group Picture Day will take place on Tuesday, January 14th. *3rd-5th grade students will take their mid year FAST test that is reported to the state the week of January 13-17. Please make sure your student is here every day that week. Students do not typically do as well when they have to make up an assessment like this. *Martin Luther King Jr Holiday is Monday, J anuary 20th. There will be no school for all. Please know that we are planning on having Conference Days where families can sign up for a 30 minute conference with your child's teacher. Please look for sign ups for Conference Days. You can choose "in person" or "virtual" conference meetings. Hello CLE Families & Care Givers: We're off to our last week before the Winter Break. When students are dismissed on Friday, December 20th, they wont' return until Tuesday, January 7th. Monday, January 6th is a Teacher Planning Day.. We'll see everyone that the 7th! This Wednesday is an EARLY DISMISSAL Wednesday! Students will be dismissed starting at 12:45 pm All students will need to be picked up or in Extended Day by 1:15 pm. PTA is opening their Wondershop (Santa) Shoppe on Wednesday for parents who want to shop with their children after school. The shop will be open on Wednesday, December 18th from 3:30 to 6:00 pm Check out the photo attached to this message for a digital gift card. for your child to spend if you wish for them not to bring cash. Don't forget! Friday is Polar Express Day! Students can wear their pajamas to school, but they must still be within the code of conduct dress expectations. Just a reminder! CLE PTA's Wonderland Santa Shoppe begins next week. Students will have a preview day and a shop day. This is a great learning opportunity for students to budget their amount they have with what they want to buy. It's a great way for them to "buy" holiday gifts for their family this holiday season.

Hello Chimney Lakes Families & Care Givers, Welcome back from the Thanksgiving break! We're in the swing of a festive time in the month of December and hope you'll join us for these events: *Tuesday, December 3rd (6 pm): Middle School Transition Night (for next year's 6th graders). Come get information from the magnet schools as well as Chaffee Middle for the upcoming School Choice window, which is now open. The deadline to turn in your magnet/school choice forms is January 31st. This is a change from previous years. *CLE's School Choice Expo is THIS Saturday!
