Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of April 28th. Our last Early Dismissal Day of the school year is this Wednesday, April 30th. Dismissal begins at 1:00. There will be no after-school tutoring this Wednesday due to it being an Early Dismissal Day. We will have Extended Day though. Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of April 21st. Please join us tomorrow, April 21st, for our Title 1 Development Plan meeting at 5:15, followed by our monthly School Advisory Council meeting at 5:30 and then our PTA meeting. All of these meetings will take place in the Crown Point media center. Fourth quarter progress reports will be posted for parents and guardians to see on Friday, April 25th. Paper copies will be sent home on April 25th as well. Our last Early Dismissal Day of the school year is Wednesday, April 30th. Dismissal begins at 1:00. This first message is from our incredible PTA: “Thank you for your support of our Spring Carnival. We had an awesome turnout! We couldn’t have pulled it off without the overwhelming support from our school staff, City Year Corp Members, and our PTA volunteers.” Please join us Monday, April 21st for our Title 1 Development Plan meeting at 5:15, followed by our monthly School Advisory Council meeting at 5:30 and then our PTA meeting. These next messages are from our incredible PTA: “-All Pro Dad's final meeting for this school year will be taking place tomorrow morning, April 7th, from 7:15am to 8:15am. Come join us for some engaging activities, networking and light refreshments. -We're having our Spring Carnival this Friday, April 11th from 5pm to 7:30pm. The cost is $5 per person. There will be a game truck, bounce houses, mobile escape room and more! We hope to see you there.” I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as we get ready for an incredible week.

Parents, please be aware that 3rd quarter report cards will be posted in Focus on March 31st. We will be sending paper copies of the report cards home as well. Please know that end-of-year report cards will only be posted in Focus. If you need a printed copy of the end-of-year report card, please feel free to come to the school over the summer to pick one up. If you have not already applied for your Focus account, please do so before the end of the year. We can help you in the main office if needed. Our next School Advisory Council meeting will be this Monday evening, March 31st at 5:30 in the media center. The SAC meeting will be immediately followed by a PTA meeting. This next message is from our incredible PTA: ”Thanks to all who attended the Ready Tech Go workshop last Tuesday evening. There was a wealth of information shared, networking and free laptops issued. The PTA still has laptops on hand and will be issuing more this week, closing out with the Cultural Arts event Thursday evening. The only requirement is that there is no personal laptop or tablet already in your household. If you’re interested and qualify, please leave your name and number with the front office for the PTA to contact you. The Spring Carnival is less than 2 weeks away on Friday, April 11th from 5pm to 7:30pm. Flyers will be sent home this week with more details.” Please join us Thursday evening, April 3rd from 5:30 to 6:30 for our Cultural Arts Night Event. This text message is from our incredible PTA: “FREE LAPTOPS! With help from our sponsors, we will be granting some of our Panthers with free devices. To qualify, you must first register to attend the Ready Tech Go seminar at www.rb.gy/ditmlv. This registration information can also be found on the school's Facebook page and the flyers sent home before the break. This event takes place on Tuesday, March 25th from 6 to 7:30pm. There will be refreshments and additional prizes and giveaways. Check the qualifications page to see if your household meets the requirements. These first few messages are from our incredible PTA: “Survey says, ‘Friday, April 11th from 5pm to 7:30pm’ is the most desired date and time for the carnival. There will be more details coming soon. On the evening of Tuesday, March 25th, we will be hosting the PTA Connected: Ready, Tech, Go! program. This is a collaboration between National PTA and AT&T designed to help families, parents and caregivers navigate the challenges of parenting in the digital age through meaningful peer-to-peer discussions about screen readiness and ways to promote healthy and responsible device use for all members of the family. More information about and registration for this event will be available this week." Spring Break this year is from Monday, March 17th through Friday, March 21st. Tomorrow, February 24th, we will be holding our annual Mid-Year Stakeholders Review to discuss the progress we have made as a school so far this year. The meeting will begin at 5:30 and will be immediately followed by our monthly School Advisory Council meeting. All are welcome to attend these meetings that will be held in our media center. These next few messages are from our incredible PTA: “Our next General Meeting is tomorrow at 6pm following the SAC meeting. There we will discuss our plans for the rest of the school year and announce the Mommy & Me Breakfast raffle winner. Refreshments will be provided. Parents, we need your input! We're planning to have a School Carnival in April but we want to know the best day and time for it. Please let us know the best option for you by completing the online survey. This survey will be posted on the PTA's Instagram page, the school's Facebook page and the DCPS app. Responses will be collected until 11:59pm on Friday, February 28th.” This Tuesday is Spring and Class Picture Day. Students who have had pictures pre-ordered will have their individual pictures taken. Each class will have a group picture taken as well. Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of February 17th. There is no school Monday, February 17th, as we celebrate Presidents Day. This Friday, February 21st, from 4 to 8 pm, Jet's Pizza at 11250 Old St Augustine Road will be donating 10% of all their sales to our school!! This is a great opportunity to earn some money for the school and support a locally owned business in our community! They have delicious Detroit-Style pizza, wings, and homemade ranch that's made fresh daily. You can order online at JetsPizza.com, call 904-870-8704, or go into the store. You can order your meal to be delivered or pick it up yourself. These next few messages are from our incredible PTA: “A fun time was had by our fundraising Panthers at the Game Truck Party. For those that participated in the Gourmet Candy Fundraiser: the candy has arrived! If your child has orders, be on the lookout for a flyer asking how you'd like to receive them. The Game Truck Party for the students who qualified to attend will be this Friday. Finally, we have reached our seating capacity for the Mommy & Me Valentine's Day Breakfast! Attendees will be receiving an email with special instructions for check-in. Since there is a capacity limit for this event, we will not be able to allow anyone to attend who did not sign up before we reached capacity.” There is no school Monday, February 17th, as we have off to celebrate Presidents Day.
