Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of October 28th. Red Ribbon Week continues this week. Monday is Superhero Day as we all have the power to be drug free. Tuesday is Decades Day as we leave drugs in the past. On Wednesday, represent your Favorite Sports Team as we team up against drugs. This Wednesday, October 30th, is an Early Dismissal Day. Our PTA is hosting their 2nd annual Trunk or Treat in the Crown Point BUS LOOP from 5:00-6:30 pm. The Book Fair will also be open that night from 5:00-6:30. We apologize for any conflicting information that was posted regarding the times of these events. Please know that both Trunk or Treat and the Book Fair Family Night will run from 5:00-6:30. This Wednesday, October 31st, is our annual Mad Scientist Day. Each K-5 grade level will enjoy a fun science show put on by our very own Ms. Adams and Ms. Bickle. These shows will occur during each grade level’s resource time and parents are invited to attend the show. Please make sure you bring your ID as you will need it to enter the building. Students are also encouraged to dress up as mad scientists as the whole day will be dedicated to science. Please know that there IS school this Friday, November 1st. Please join us this Monday for our monthly School Advisory Council meeting at 5:30 immediately followed by our PTA board meeting. Red Ribbon Week begins this Thursday and carries on through next week. On Thursday, wear red to kick off Red Ribbon Week. On Friday, Wake up Drug Free and wear pajamas to school. All students must wear shoes and are not allowed to wear slippers. Next Wednesday, October 30th, is an Early Dismissal Day. Our PTA is hosting our 2nd annual Trunk or Treat in the Crown Point parking lot beginning at 5:00 pm on this day. The Book Fair will also be open that night from 5:00-6:30. Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of October 7th. This Wednesday is National Stop Bullying Day. Everyone is encouraged to wear orange. As we continue to celebrate Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month, we’re encourage everyone to dress up in clothing that represents Hispanic and/or Latin American countries. There is no school for students Monday, October 14th due to it being a teacher planning day. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as we get ready for an incredible week.

We will be participating in Jax Goes to College tomorrow, October 2nd. Students can come dressed as their future career or college they want to attend. We can't wait to see everyone dress up!

Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of September 30th. This Wednesday, October 2nd, we will be celebrating Jax Goes to College Day. We encourage our students to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. Fall picture day is this Friday, October 4th. We look forward to seeing our students dressed in their best. This next message is from our wonderful PTA. Trunk-R-Treat is coming back this year! On October 30th from 6 to 7:30pm, we will have our 2nd pre-Halloween event. Like last year, children can come dressed in their favorite costumes to the event and enjoy some fun treats. Flyers will be going out with more information. If you'd like to volunteer, please fill out and return the form. We also have the Candy Monster in the main office to collect your individually-wrapped, store-bought candy donations. Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of September 23rd. Thank you to all the families who attended our PK-2nd grade Open House last Thursday. We appreciate everyone who joined us. This Monday evening, we have three different meetings. Please join us at 5:00 for our annual Title 1 Annual Overview meeting. At 5:30, please join us for our monthly School Advisory Council meeting. At 6:00, we will have our monthly PTA Board meeting. This Wednesday is our first early dismissal day of the school year. Dismissal begins at 1:00. These next few messages are from a wonderful PTA. Thanks to everyone that attended our General Meeting this Thursday. The raffle winners will be announced this week. Parents, our Membership Drive is still going on. Please help your child's class win a pizza party by signing up for membership. It's only $5 and volunteering is not required. Our first All Pro Dads meeting will be taking place on Monday, October 7th from 7:15 to 8:15am. This is an opportunity for our kids to showcase their dads and for the dads to network with each other. Light refreshments will be served. Don't forget to help us support our Safety Patrols and School Library by purchasing a SaveAround Jacksonville discount book. They are only $25. Finally, we would like to send a special thanks to our parent volunteers! With your help, we had a successful Teachers' Cafe on Thursday and Birthday Book Cart distribution on Friday. As we continue to celebrate Hispanic/Latin Heritage Month, don’t forget to wear your favorite soccer, baseball, or football jersey/T-shirt this Friday. We appreciate everyone who joined us, even though it was a little wet from all the rain. Open House for PK–2nd grade will be this Thursday, September 19th. There will be a General PTA meeting at 5:30 followed by Open House at 6:00. This next message is from a wonderful PTA. The Save Around Discount Book fundraiser has started. Families should be receiving flyers this week. A portion of the proceeds will support the Safety Patrols and our Crown Point library. Hispanic & Latin Heritage Month begins this week. On Friday, we encourage everyone to wear a T-shirt or colors that represent a Hispanic or Latin American country. Picture day is coming up on October 4th. Parents can begin pre-ordering photos. Good Afternoon Crown Point Families, This is Principal Hartley with your updates for the week of August 25th. On Monday evening, August 26th, there will be a General PTA Meeting in the media center at 6:00. If you are interested in helping our PTA this year, we greatly encourage you to attend. You are not committing yourself to anything by attending this meeting. Prior to the General PTA Meeting on August 26th, we will have our first School Advisory Council meeting at 5:30. Being part of Crown Point’s School Advisory Council is a great way to share your ideas and hear from administration about what is going on at school. These meetings occur monthly, and we welcome anyone interested in attending. This Wednesday evening at 6:30, Boy Scouts of America will be at Crown Point in the cafeteria for an informational meeting about their program this year. Please know this is a correction from what I provided last week. The meeting will start at 6:30 instead of 6:00. You will also be able to sign your child up that night if you would like. All are invited to attend. There is no school Monday, September 2nd due to it being Labor Day. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as we get ready for an incredible week.
