Community Partnerships in Action
As a Community Partnership School, Matthew W. Gilbert continues to thrive through the incredible support of our community partners who help meet the needs of our students and families every day.
😁 Big Smiles Dental
Big Smiles Dental visited our campus to brighten student smiles and promote better oral health through free, in-school dental care ensuring students receive essential services without ever leaving the classroom.
🌿 Project One: “More Green Than Screen”
We’re excited to launch a new partnership with Project One, focused on promoting healthy minds and active lifestyles. Through gardening and nature-based activities, students are encouraged to trade screen time for green time, cultivating both growth and wellness right here on the East Side.
🚤 St. Johns Riverkeeper
In partnership with St. Johns Riverkeeper, students now have the opportunity to explore environmental learning through hands-on riverboat tours and nature activities. These experiences promote conservation, wellness, and outdoor engagement giving our students and families a chance to connect with the natural world in meaningful ways.
🦃 Thanksgiving of Gratitude
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of LIFT Jax and the strong partnership with Children’s Home Society (CHS) through the Community Partnership Schools initiative. Together with the Boys & Girls Club, we are hosting a special Thanksgiving Dinner to celebrate and give thanks with our students and families.
Jewish Family Support Partners with
Matthew Gilbert Community Partnership School
Jewish Family Support has joined forces with Matthew Gilbert Community Partnership School to provide essential food assistance through the Curbside Food Pantry. This initiative serves as a vital lifeline for families and community members experiencing food insecurity.
The event brought together dedicated partners and volunteers, including Community Partnership School (CPS) staff and student leaders from the Boys & Girls Club, who worked collaboratively to distribute food and offer care to those in need. Their teamwork and compassion exemplify the spirit of service and collaboration that continues to strengthen our community.
Through partnerships like these, Matthew Gilbert remains steadfast in its commitment to connecting families with valuable resources, ensuring that no family in our community goes without.

Community Partners Explore
Pathways for Healthier Youth
Community Partners recently came together to explore innovative ways to promote healthier, more active lifestyles for youth. The collaborative event encouraged participants to connect with nature through a series of outdoor, nature-based activities designed to inspire new program ideas and strengthen community connections.
As part of the experience, partners joined the St. Johns Riverkeeper for a guided boat tour along the Trout River, gaining first hand insight into the organization’s environmental programs and community engagement efforts. The visit also provided an opportunity for partners to learn about current youth-focused initiatives and identify new areas for collaboration.
This effort aligns with Project One’s initiative, “Less Screen, More Green = Children Flourishing,” which emphasizes the importance of outdoor experiences in supporting children’s health, development, and overall well-being.
