Good morning Panda Nation, We understand the daily challenges that affect us on a day-to-day basis and greatly appreciate your ongoing support and efforts to have your child hear daily and on time. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances occur, we must emphasize the importance of regular and punctual school attendance. Consistent attendance is crucial for your child’s academic progress and social development. When a student is absent or tardy, they miss out on valuable classroom instruction. To address what has been identified as a district-wide area of concern, we will begin speaking with our students regularly about the importance of attending school and begin incentivizing students who attend school, free of unexcused absences. For your part, we ask that you implement the following strategies: • Ensure your student attends school every day and be on time for class. The late bell rings at 8:30 a.m. and instruction begins directly following the bell. • If your student is absent, contact the school and provide us with an adequate notice via email or written note. Phone calls are helpful, but written notices are required for documentation. • Please monitor your child’s attendance on Focus and reach out with any discrepancies. • Provide illness verification from medical professional or medical facility representative for each separate illness exceeding three (3) consecutive days. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be happy to brainstorm solutions.
