CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. Our success as an A-rated district with a 97.6% graduation rate would not be possible without these dedicated professionals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Join us in thanking our outstanding school counselors for the lasting difference they make in our schools and community!

Friendly Reminder: Tonight is our annual Art Night.
Art Night starts at 5:00. We hope to see you there!
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today to convey some very sad news impacting our school family.
I am sorry to share with you that one of our beloved staff members, assistant teacher Mr. Jan Flager, passed away yesterday.
We will all certainly remember Mr. Flager for his incredible commitment to students. Mr. Flager was a dedicated and long-time educator who was well loved and respected by our entire school community.
Our sympathies go out to his family, friends, and our entire school community during this difficult time. I am deeply saddened, and I know students, staff and family members who knew Mr. Flager will miss him tremendously.
To support our school community, we will have specially trained school counselors and social workers on campus today, and additional support will be made available as needed. Please join me in keeping Mr. Flager’s friends, family, and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Michael Alexander
Principal

Students will visit the market throughout the day and shop with their class. Please send CASH for your student to shop. If you want to shop with your student, we will pull them to shop with you when you come to explore the agencies.
Items range from 5.00-10.00
This is a friendly reminder that Palm Avenue cannot send home Halloween/Fall treat bags or gifts with students unless the students have parent permission.
Please do not send in any food, treats, or gifts to your student's class without reaching out to the teacher to determine if permission slips have been sent home.
Have a great evening,
Ms. Bartlett
Halloween is almost here! Many of our students will be dressing up, heading to trunk-or-treat events, and going door to door for candy. Please remind your children to walk with an adult, stay on the sidewalks, and make sure drivers can see them by wearing something bright or reflective.
Drivers, please slow down and keep an extra eye out for kids in costumes this weekend.
Don’t forget, the time changes on Sunday, which means it will be getting darker earlier. Let’s all be extra careful when walking, biking, or driving in the evenings.
Have a safe, fun, and spooky Halloween!
