🎃 Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School Trunk or Treat 🎃
Get ready for a spooktacular afternoon at Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School! Our annual Trunk or Treat will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sports Complex.
Students will participate according to the following schedule:
8th Grade: 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
7th Grade: 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM
6th Grade: 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Students, teachers, and staff are welcome to wear appropriate costumes. Masks are not permitted. Participation is subject to change if inappropriate behavior occurs, as determined by administration.
To support school expectations, students are encouraged to bring their school uniforms in their backpacks. Students who arrive in inappropriate attire may be permitted to contact home for a change of clothes or may need to be picked up from school.

Amendment 3 and the Duval County Public Schools 1-mill referendum are two separate items on the November 3 ballot.
🏫 The 1-mill referendum is a continuation of the millage approved by Duval County voters in 2022. It supports school funding, including teacher pay, as well as arts and athletics.
🏠 Amendment 3 is a proposed change to the Florida Constitution addressing property taxes statewide. The amendment excludes school funding.

As part of our district's commitment to student health, safety, and emergency preparedness, our Physical Education and Health programs proudly participated in the World Heart Day "RESPOND" Initiative on September 29.Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to learn, practice, and share Hands-Only CPR, reinforcing the important message:

Vision Is Priceless will provide vision services to Panthers on-site at Matthew Gilbert, helping eliminate transportation barriers and ensuring students have convenient access to needed vision care. Forms for permission were sent home with students. If you need another form please contact the front office
