PTA is selling a selection of holiday plants. The price for each is $15. The plants will be available to pick up during Exhibit Night on December 18. Please consider supporting PTA with this fundraiser. See the order form for complete details. All order forms are due by December 15.

Our read-a-thon will be ending tomorrow. Please record any final reading sessions and input any donations tonight. We are currently at $420 in donations and 2,096 total minutes of reading. We're excited to share that testing season is almost here, 12/1 through 12/12. Over those two weeks our students will be taking their FAST PM2 assessments to show how much they have learned since the beginning of the year. This is not just about a test- it's a moment for students to demonstrate their growth, and for us to celebrate their hard work.
To make this time extra special, students who put in their best effort will be invited to a celebration at the end of testing. It's our way to honor their perseverance and hard work. The attached flyer gives the details of how they will be celebrated.
How can you help:
Encourage a calm, restful bedtime and a healthy breakfast on test days.
Talk to them about doing their best, not just getting the "right' answer.
Thank you for partnering with us as we help our students shine. If you have any questions about the test format, scheduled testing days, or how to support your child, please reach out to your child's teacher. Let's make this Mission a success together!

As you all know our Turkey Trot is coming up on November 21st. We need to make sure our turkeys stay hydrated after their run! If you are able, please donate a case or two of water next week for our students! We can accept them in car line or you can drop them off in the front office.

Next week we have one of our favorite annual events - THE TURKEY TROT!! The trot will be held on Friday, November 21. Each class will have a designated time to walk/run/trot around the school. We could use some volunteers to help keep our kids on track and cheer them on. If you are an approved volunteer and can assist for any amount of time that day, please email Mrs. Tibbits at tibbitsm@duvalschools.org. Thanks so much!

DON'T FORGET! Tomorrow, Thursday November 13 from 5:30 to 7:00pm, is FALL into Science Night at Ortega Elementary School! There will be interactive science stations 🔬🧪🧬 and each family will receive a free science book 📖! We can't wait to see all of our families tomorrow night!
