Get ready for a week of math fun at Ortega! Each day, students will participate in math challenges and activities to show that Math is Everywhere. We’ll also have a daily math trivia question the winning class earns a small treat!

PTA is continuing the membership drive that was started in the Fall. They are giving families until the end of March to join PTA in order to have it count toward the contest. The top 3 classes at the end of the month will get a party courtesy of PTA. The cost is $7 per family. Joining the PTA helps support: academic programs, end-of-year awards, yearbooks, movie night, campus improvements, teacher appreciation, and so much more. Leonard's will be on campus on March 9 to take Spring Pictures. Only students who pre-order pictures will be photographed. Unlike past years, these pictures will be taken indoors with a green screen and parents will have the option to choose from a variety of backgrounds. Order forms were sent home this week in folders. Or, you can order online at www.leonards.com/order. Our access code is C765804. Again, ONLY students who pre-order pictures will be photographed.
Don't forget spirit night at The Loop (4591 Lakeside Drive) today from 4 PM to 9 PM. Make sure to mention that you are there supporting Ortega Elementary and 20% of the proceeds will be donated back to our school.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday for Pastries with Parents at 8:00. Be sure to bring your ID so you can check in at the main office. Pastries with Parents will be from 8:00 until 8:30 in the cafeteria. After this event, we encourage all our guests to head over to the media center for our Mid-Year Stakeholders Meeting. It will begin at 8:45. This is an opportunity to learn about how things are going and help shape a plan to finish the year strong!
