CELEBRATING SCHOOL COUNSELORS — Team Duval is proud to recognize National School Counseling Week and the incredible impact our more than 240 school counselors make every single day. They advocate for students, help them navigate their academic journeys, and guide them toward their goals. As part of this special week, dozens of counselors gathered at the Schultz Center for their annual conference, focused on building student “superpowers” like grit and resilience – perfectly aligned with the national theme of helping students thrive and preparing them for college, career, and life. Their commitment to growing their own “superpowers” directly fuels student success across Team Duval. Next week, February 9–13, is Spread the Love Week at Ortega! We hope students will join us in celebrating the Valentine’s Day holiday by participating in fun dress-up days and by “spreading the love” through a daily act of kindness.

The parent compacts went home yesterday in students' folders. If your student has not received theirs, they will be receiving it shortly. Please go over the compacts with your student and read all areas of the document. Please sign and return the compact in your child's green folder as soon as possible. See the attached image for a preview of the compacts.

Literacy week begins this Monday January 26 on our 100th day of school! Students are encouraged to celebrate 100 days of learning by dressing up as a 100-year-old person or wearing a creative 100th day of school shirt or outfit!
We will continue to celebrate Literacy Week through Friday January 30th. Please see the attached calendar for the themes for each day.
As ALWAYS encourage your students to read at least 30 minutes every day!
