Westside is home to several Academic programs.
Fine Arts Program Westside's Fine Arts Program serves committed, highly motivated students interested in Choral and Instrumental Music, Visual Arts, Speech and Debate, and Journalism. Instrumental Music includes beginning band, advanced band, and instrumental ensemble. Other instrumental classes include Guitar I and Guitar II. Several classes are offered through our Choral program. These classes range from beginner through advanced. We offer Chorus I-Chorus IV and Music of the World. Art is offered and covers a wide variety of topics, from art history to how to paint. All of these courses meet the state requirement for graduation and offers hands-on experience to students.
ROTC. The mission of AFJROTC is to “develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.” This citizenship training program is designed to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill personal responsibility, character, and self-discipline. The program achieves this through classroom education in air and space fundamentals and hands on learning opportunities in a number of fun and challenging extra-curricular activities. The AFJROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.”
