Good Morning Spring Park Parents,
This is a gentle reminder that we have updated visitor protocols in place to ensure student safety. Please remember that you must bring a physical id such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport to enter the school building. If you do not have a physical id on you, we cannot allow you access into the building. This is vitally important to remember and it has been so hurtful and difficult to turn away parents who we have known for years because they do not have their physical id on them. I know that is has caused some uncomfortable situations, however, we must follow Duval County Public Schools Policy to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Please see the message that was sent via email and phone tree by Duval County Public Schools on September 3rd.
Dear Duval Families,
We are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff at all Duval County Public Schools. To help maintain a secure environment during the school day, Extended Day, and after-school activities, we are reinforcing our visitor safety procedures and ask for your continued cooperation.
Visitor Safety Procedures:
Valid Identification Required: All visitors must present a valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state ID, or passport) upon entering any school campus. Access will not be granted without a valid ID.
Brief Screening Questions: Visitors will be asked a few questions regarding the purpose of their visit to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Individual Entry Protocol: To maintain compliance with these procedures, please do not hold the door open for others entering behind you. Each visitor must check in individually at the front office.
Badge Pass Sticker: Upon check-in, your valid ID will be used to issue a badge pass sticker, which must be worn visibly at all times on campus. Failure to display the sticker will result in being asked to leave.
To help you understand what to expect during your visit, you can watch this helpful video.
These measures are designed to prioritize the safety of your children and our school community. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep our schools secure.
If you have any questions, please contact your school’s front office or visit our district website for more information.
Thank you for your support.
Best,
Duval County Public Schools
