From The Desk Of Principal Parker:
"Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we wrap up the first half of the fourth grading quarter, thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's learning. Grades for our fourth quarter progress reports will be available soon. This is an opportunity to see your child's educational trajectory and to request a parent/teacher/student conference to receive additional resources that will help your child continue a positive momentum in their academic progress. Please look for the 4th quarter progress reports through the parent portal and your Focus account. After reviewing your child's progress, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We're proud of our students' hard work and look forward to a strong academic finish this school year!"

Hello SPE Families! Our 3rd, 4th & 5th Graders will be participating in a Spring Musical this Thursday, April 24th, at 9am. All 3rd, 4th & 5th Graders are asked to dress in all black on Thursday for their performance. 🖤🎼

Hello Spring Park Families! This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow/Friday, April 18th, there is NO SCHOOL for students, teachers, faculty & staff in observance of a Spring Holiday. School will resume on Monday, April 21st. We hope everyone has a safe, happy & healthy 3 day weekend! ☀️

🍭🍬 How many candies are in the jar? For $1.00, students will be able to make 2 guesses for how many pieces of candy are in the jars. Because this event has become so popular with the students, the ending date has been extended to Tuesday, April 22nd. Winners (the closest guesses without going over) will be announced on Wednesday, April 23rd. Winners will win the jars of candy. There will be a sales booth set up in the cafeteria each morning, before school, from 8:00am-8:30am, where students can make their guesses. All students, PreK-5th Grades, are invited to participate in this exciting fundraiser. All fundraiser proceeds will go directly to 5th Grade's end-of-the-year IB Exhibition Project where they will be packaging food items for those in need. If you have questions, please our 5th Grade teaching team (Mrs. Orr, Mr. Osakue and/or Ms. Montgomery). Thank you!

📸 The students had a wonderful time at Play Day on Friday! We had a bounce house obstacle course, a dance party, sports activities, snow cones & more! When we return to school on Monday it will be time for everyone to focus on learning and give their very best effort each and every day since end of the year testing is right around the corner. Let's end this school year strong and show DCPS how bright we are by impressing them with our end of the year test scores! We've got this Spring Park!

Hello Spring Park Elementary Families,
This is Principal Parker. I hate to interrupt your evening, but I wanted to share with you that our school was on a precautionary lockdown earlier this evening due to police activity in the neighborhood. As this took place after school, this impacted our Team Up and Extended Day students and staff. But I wanted to reassure our entire school community that all students and staff remained safe, and this police activity did not involve our school in any way. I also want to thank my Team Up and Extended Day students, staff, and families for the tremendous grace you showed during this concerning incident. Thank you as always for your support and understanding. Have a great remainder of your evening.
