Bus 261 students are currently still at the school. Bus 108 will be returning to pick up the students from 261 after completing her route.
Good evening M. A. J. Families!
We had a terrific first week of school as we focused on learning and reviewing our rituals and routines. We had our Code of Conduct Assemblies and practiced a Lockdown Drill. As we move into week 2, we will begin working on Baseline Assessments which will help us to understand our students' learning strengths and needs as we plan instruction.
If you have not already done so, please download the new DCPS application. This will be the best source to receive information from the school and your child's teacher(s). In the bottom right corner of the app, select rooms, and then DCPS Parents to link to your child's classroom and groups.
From the menu, you can also access PikMyKid to make updates to your child's dismissal. If you are having difficulty connecting in PikMyKid, please log in to your parent OneView account to verify the phone number and email address.
Please mark your calendars and make plans to attend our Title I Annual Meeting and schoolwide Open House on Thursday, August 29th. Our Title I Annual Meeting will begin at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria. Entrance will be through the cafeteria doors on the East side of the school. We will provide information about our Title I program, resources, budget and events planned.
Open House will begin at 6:00 PM and entry will be through the front doors of the school. We will have 3 rotations beginning at 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 PM to accommodate our families with multiple children.
I hope you have a good evening. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning at Mamie Agnes Jones where we are Making Amazing Gains In Classrooms (MAGIC)!!
Come join the Baldwin Middle High School Cross Country Team on Saturday, September 14th at 8:00 AM for a one mile mentor run. Please see the attached information regarding the Rooms feature that will be used for communication this year!
Good evening MAJFamilies!
We are excited to welcome everyone back for the first day of school tomorrow!
As a reminder, our school day is from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. Please do not drop students off before 8:00 am as there is no supervision for them unless they are enrolled in morning extended day.
Parents will be allowed to walk their children to their classrooms tomorrow morning for their first day of school between 8:00 and 8:30. Our PTO will have a "Tears and Cheers" time in the media center for parents after you drop your child off.
Parents, please ensure your child's teacher knows how your child will be going home tomorrow and for the rest of the school year. Please find your child's bus number, especially if you plan your drop them off, but they will ride the bus home! This information can be updated in Pikmykid.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow as we are Making Amazing Gains In Classrooms! It's M.A.G.I.C!
Hello MAJ Families!
As we head into the new school year, I wanted to share an important update regarding school communications. All communication will take place through the DCPS app, or email. If you had the previous version of the DCPS application downloaded, you can delete it as it is now obsolete. The new application is available and you may download it, but please know it is not fully functional yet. In the near future, you will have access to "Rooms" which will be the primary source for classroom information.
In order to receive messages, you will need to have a linked parent account and you will need to know your login credentials (the email and password you used to set up your account).
We look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow between 1:30 and 2:30 to meet your teachers and drop off school supplies if you would like! Have a wonderful evening!
MAJ is hiring!
We are currently looking for a School Monitor to help supervise in the cafeteria during lunch. This is a part-time position, Monday - Friday from 10:45 - 1:15. Interested parties should contact the school at 904-266-1214.
